There are a number of Alberta motorcycle trips to take on your Harley, from stunning views of nature to road trips through the urban jungle. If you haven’t already checked-off these five locations from your list of travels, be sure to visit them before winter.
According to Google travel guide to Alberta, one of the top places to visit in Alberta is Banff National Park. Located in the Rocky Mountains and approximately 110-180 kilometers west of Calgary, Banff has glaciers, ice fields, and dense forests. The Icefields Parkway goes across Lake Louise, providing unparalleled views.
You should also take a drive to Edmonton, the capital of Alberta. Located on the North Saskatchewan River, you can drive past landmarks like the Royal Alberta Museum, Fort Edmonton Park, and more. Elk Island National Park is also nearby, a perfect place to see wildlife.
Jasper National Park is a picturesque area known for wildlife and hiking, making it a great destination for any bike trip. There are waterfalls, glaciers, and Maligne Lake, and many bikers prefer to stop for a day or two at the park before heading back to the city.
If you only have a day or so, take a loop around the city of Calgary. Start with Central Memorial Park, then head to Calgary Tower, past Olympic Plaza, and along the Bow River. You may need to disembark to reach some destinations, but there are tons of areas downtown that are fun to experience on a Harley.
Finally, check out Canmore. Located west of Calgary in the summits of the Three Sisters and Ha Ling Peak, this town is a true getaway. Because of the bad weather conditions that sometimes appear, this destination is better for experienced bikers than beginners. These are just some of the many places we at Calgary Harley-Davidson suggest visiting.
